Official migration path

MongoDB announced the Voyage AI acquisition on 2025-02-24 and the models are still maintained; MongoDB documents an optional migration from api.voyageai.com to the Atlas Embedding and Reranking API but states no deprecation or deadline.

Move to: MongoDB Atlas Embedding and Reranking API

  1. In your Atlas project open AI Model APIs, click Create model API key, and set it as VOYAGE_API_KEY in place of the old Voyage key
  2. If endpoints are hard-coded, swap https://api.voyageai.com/v1/... for https://ai.mongodb.com/v1/... (embeddings, rerank, multimodal, contextualized)
  3. voyageai Python client 0.3.7+ routes by key format automatically; the TypeScript client needs environment: "https://ai.mongodb.com/v1"
  4. Test embeddings and reranking, then delete the old key on the Voyage AI platform
