Official migration path

Gitpod renamed itself Ona (2025-09-02); Ona agreed to join OpenAI's Codex team on 2026-06-11 (closed 2026-08-10) and Ona Cloud shuts down on 2026-10-31, with Codex Cloud named as the replacement.

Move to: OpenAI Codex (cloud agent)

  1. Before 2026-10-31, have the agent commit and push all changes to your repository
  2. Back up any other files separately and confirm everything you need is stored outside Ona
  3. Ona environments do not move automatically: sign in to Codex with your ChatGPT account, connect your repositories and create a new cloud environment
  4. October payments and unused purchased credits are refunded
